Mutumba goes online

Hi people!!

Today, while on facebook, I saw an ad about mutumba clothing being sold on the internet-http://www.totallytumba.com/. Now, I never thought I would ever see this happen, but I wonder, where do they get these clothes from? Do they buy the bails like all the other hawkers? Do they shop around places such as Gikomba, Toi and Ngara for these clothes? Or do they sell their own already used clothes?

What do you think?

The seamless panties

Hi people!!

The other day I was shopping when I came across the seamless panties. I was told that they help prevent the dreaded pantie lines from showing. I decided to see for myself so I bought just a pair.

The seamless panties are a gift from heaven!! No more unwanted pantie line!! I truly believe that they are from here on out a necessity. Every woman should have but a pair. I am truly tired of seeing women from work in extremely tight trousers that reveal more than they should.

Good-bye pantie lines!! :-D

Photo shoot!!

Hi people!!

Yesterday I spent the day practically running around. I was doing a photo shoot for a friends jewellery line and my first clothing line. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. It was a busy day and after that, I was unable to sleep! By the time I got home I was so exhausted, but it was a an amazing day. I cannot wait to finally reveal my first five piece collection to you all. Have a good day everyone. And a fabulous weekend.

The Maasai Shuka rocking the runway

Hi people.

Two days ago I was going through the June 2011 issue of the US Elle magazine and that is when I discovered that Louis Vuitton wasn't the only one using the Maasia shuka on the runway. Thakoon has featured the Maasai shuka as well in his Fall 2011 collection. Thakoon has dressed First Lady Michelle Obama and I wounder, do you think Michelle Obama will be rocking this look any time soon?

Well, it's official, the Maasai shuka is the worlds latest trend. I wonder how long it will last on the runways.

Kasha Online Magazine

Hi people!!

Last night I decide to google a fellow fashion blogger Nancie Mwai. I then found that she is the editor of an online fashion magazine called Kasha Magazine. It is a must read magazine, and for its first issue, it is amazing!!! Go to http://reader.kashamagazine.com/ to read it. You just have to read it. The content, the fashion and the pictures are all amazing. I feel so proud of this home grown magazine and the amount of fashion it has.

I hope you all enjoy the magazine as much as I did and still am!! As for the rest of the day today...it is so gloomy but I'm determined to have a good day. Going for rugby with the girls. Kenya vs Uganda.

Have a good day people and keep warm!!

Louis Vuitton and the Maasai shuka

Hi people!! Hope you are all well. Now for those of you who don't know (and must be living in Pluto), Louis Vuitton featured a whole lot of Masai shuka in the Menswear S/S 2012 collection. I feel that it is such an honor for us as Kenyan's to have such a huge label feature our fabric. Bringing so much attention to us as African's and saying that there is a lot that they can get from us. We are more than just a 3rd world country. We are no longer the next big thing. We are the big thing. Now can we begin to capitalize on this platform that we have been given by Louis Vuitton and others like Marie Claire who stated, "Nairobi is the new New York" and Black Fashion Magazine, Paris edition, who featured Lucy Rao's dress on the cover.

Kenya, it is our time to rule the fashion world!!

The FAB expo and my lovely green bag!!

Hello lovely people! Sorry I haven't been around much. Just finished my internship at Amani Ya Juu and I really enjoyed. From the people to the fabric.

Yesterday I went for the FAB-Fashion and Beauty Expo at the Westgate shopping mall. The place was amazing. I found such amazing items. For me, the thing that caught my eye the most had to be Silver Jewelry by Meena and Una and Bahati by Patricia Wakaimba. Look up Bahabti at www.bahati.me. I love the fact that Bahati is also very affordable for custom made clothing. I also realised that the Kenyan fashion scene is growing so fast and it is becoming more competitive, which is exciting.

While I was there, I got myself a beautiful green bag. I'm really loving it. I even dreamed about it last night. Isn't it beautiful?

All in all, I had a great time. A well spent fashionable day!!

Have a great Monday people!!
